The mission of the Branch of Environmental and Cultural Resources Management is to provide advice and assistance regarding environmental laws, environmental regulations and their effect on trust land’s environmental and cultural resources.

The programs and policies of the Branch of Environmental and Cultural Resources Management (BECRM) ensure that the environmental, cultural, and historical resources of American Indian and Alaskan Native Tribes and individuals are served by federal environmental laws and regulations.

About the Branch of Environmental and Cultural Resources Management
BECRM provides leadership, guidance, policy and support for the protection of environmental and cultural resources, working with federal, state, and Tribal governments to ensure compliance with environmental law on Indian trust lands, restricted lands and federal facilities owned or operated by Indian Affairs.
We offer oversight and guidance for implementing a range of environmental laws and regulations, including the National Environmental Policy Act, Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act and the National Historic Preservation Act.
