Our Mission
The mission of the Branch of Real Property and Leasing (BRPL) is to provide policy, oversight, and technical assistance for the real property leasing program and lease administration for all Indian Affairs (IA), including offices within the Assistant Secretary for Indian Affairs (AS-IA), the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), and the Bureau of Indian Education (BIE).

Who We Serve
BRPL serves tribes, schools, vendors, and other stakeholders under IA, AS-IA, BIA, and BIE through the real property leasing program. BRPL also handles space utilization and requests for space from these entities. Some examples of spaces that BRPL is responsible for include office/commercial spaces, warehouses, yards, and storage spaces. About the Branch of Real Property and Leasing (BRPL)
The Branch of Real Property and Leasing (BRPL) is headquartered in Reston, VA. BRPL is responsible for the real property leasing program and lease administration for all Indian Affairs (IA), including the Offices within AS-IA, the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) and the Bureau of Indian Education (BIE). This encompasses Indian Affairs’ twelve regions located throughout the U.S. and Alaska and impacts every federally recognized Indian.
