San Carlos Irrigation Project

Providing efficient energy through the effective management of power resources in Arizona

NOTICE

NOTICE OF POWER COST ADJUSTMENT

Pursuant to the Bureau of Indian Affairs regulations governing our electric power utilities, found at 25 CFR Part 175, notice is hereby given that the San Carlos Irrigation Project (SCIP) is adjusting the purchased Power Cost Adjustment (PCA) component of our rates. Effective March 1, 2025, all customers except Irrigation Project Pumps, will be charged $0.015 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) consumed in addition to our existing electric power rates published in the Federal Register (87 FR 77628, Dec. 19, 2022).

This will replace the May 1, 2024, PCA of $0.025 per kWh. SCIP completed its periodic review of power supply costs for calendar year 2024 and determined that a reduction in the PCA is appropriate. We will continue to monitor energy rates and adjust the PCA as needed to meet our financial and statutory requirements. Please direct questions via e-mail to scippca@bia.gov or mail to San Carlos Irrigation Project, P.O. Box 250, Coolidge, Arizona, 85128.

The Bureau of Indian Affairs owns and operates San Carlos Irrigation Project ("SCIP" or “the Project”). SCIP aims to provide reliable electric power at lowest practicable cost, consistent with sound business principles.
