Fort Belknap Agency

The Fort Belknap Reservation is located in north central Montana near Havre, Montana. This resource rich reservation is home to over 6,500 Gros Ventre and Assiniboine enrolled tribal members (Fort Belknap Community Council) and contains about 623,000 acres of land within its exterior boundary. There are about 649,628 acres of tribal and allotted surface trust acreage that includes Turtle Mountain Public Domain lands.

The agency provides direct services in the following program areas: Executive Direction & Administration, Facilities Management, Agriculture, Forestry, Trust Services, Probate, Irrigation, and Real Estate Services.

The Tribe has contracted the following programs: Job Placement & Training, Road Maintenance, Indian Child Welfare, Housing Improvement, Tribal Courts, Community Fire Protection, Agriculture, Water Resources, Wildlife & Parks, Trust Services, Wildland Fire Preparedness & Suppression, Tribal Management & Development, Real Estate Appraisals, and Other Aid to Tribal Government.
