Our Mission
The Pacific Region's Branch of Agriculture and Rangeland Management holds primary responsibility for the stewardship of Indian Trust lands within California. Specifically, it focuses on the conservation, protection, utilization, and management of the land. To do so, the BIA must inventory and monitor agricultural resources; develop agricultural resources management and conservation plans for the trust Indian assets; and conduct lease and permit administration, compliance, and enforcement.
The most common program functions of the Pacific Region's Branch of Agriculture and Rangeland are monitoring grazing permits, monitoring grazing and agricultural leases, assessing range units, and facilitating and administering the Invasive Species/Noxious Weeds program.
