Residential Service Description: (See Operations Manual Section 1: Customer Information for full details) Residence is defined as a dwelling that has full time living facilities i.e. full kitchen and bathroom facilities. This includes guest homes, mother-in-law quarters, and casitas. This classification is available to customers with single-phase or three-phase electric service delivered through one meter to a single-family residence. This class is limited to a maximum metered demand of 25 kW per month and/or service panel less than 400 amps. Demand loads registering greater than 25kW two (2) months out of twelve (12) consecutive months, and/or 400 amp services or larger will be classified in the Commercial (see section 1.2.2.) rate class.
Availability
The Commercial electric secondary service shall only be used by the customer, on the customers own premises and shall not be resold.
This classification is available to single or three-phase service. This schedule applies to electrical service required for:
- Commerical
- Industrial
- Demand loads registering greater than 25kW two (2) months out of twelve (12) consecutive months, and/or
- 400 amp services or larger will be classified in a demand rate class.
If more than one meter is required by the customer’s installations, or for the customer’s convenience, a separate billing for each meter is required.
All Commercial secondary service entrances shall be Wye connected services. No new three wire Delta connected secondary service entrances shall be connected to CRA-ES utility services.
CRA-ES shall only supply the following secondary voltages to Commercial customers;
- 120/240 V
- 120/208 V
- 120/240/208 V
- 277/480 V
Prior to CRA-ES energizing the secondary service, if the total kW demand for the service is greater than 25 kW the customer shall install power factor correction capacitors on all to the service. The goal of power factor correction capacitors is to increase the power factor to unity or 100%.
If the power factor is found to be less than 85% by use of revenue meter registers an adjustment for power factor will be made by increasing the billing demand for each month by 1% for each 1% or major fraction thereof by which the lagging power factor is less than 85%.
The Irrigation electric service shall only be used by the customer, on the customers own premises and shall not be resold.
This classification is available to customers with single or three-phase services are used exclusively for irrigation pump motors.
All irrigation secondary service entrances shall be Wye connected services. No new Delta connected secondary service entrances shall be connected to CRA-ES utility services.

- 120/240 V
- 120/208 V
- 120/240/208 V
- 277/480 V
Prior to CRA-ES energizing the secondary service, if the total kW demand for the service is greater than 5 kW the customer shall install motor soft starters and power factor correction capacitors on all motors connected to the service. The goal of utilizing motor soft starters and power factor correction capacitors is to temporarily reduce the load and torque imposed on the motor while increasing the power factor to unity or 1.
If the power factor is found to be less than 85% by use of revenue meter registers an adjustment for power factor will be made by increasing the billing demand for each month by 1% for each 1% or major fraction thereof by which the lagging power factor is less than 85%.
Prior to CRA-ES energizing the service the customer shall ensure that low voltage lightning arrestors are installed on the service. All motors shall be protected on all three power legs.
This classification is available to customers who desire Dusk-To-Dawn Lighting on customer premises. The fee includes fixture installation and service connection. Location will be determined by equipment access and maintenance requirements by CRA-ES. Pole location will be per CRA-ES direction and set by CRA-ES.
Dusk-To-Dawn lighting location will be no more than 150 feet from CRA-ES supplied power source (i.e. CRA-ES power transformer). If the desired Dusk-To-Dawn lighting location is more than 150 feet from the power source, the customer will be required to pay the incremental cost that are more than the 150 feet provided by the utility.
No CRA-ES supplied Dusk-To-Dawn lights shall be installed on customer service pole or customer supplied poles.
If customer wishes to purchase a CRA-ES supplied power pole and have a Dusk-to-Dawn light installed on the pole, the cost for the CRA-ES power pole shall be at the most current market rate, a non-refundable Dusk to Dawn Construction Fee, and Dusk to Dawn Lighting Fee will be charged.

If the fault is found to be in the customer’s equipment, or if the customer’s main breaker is in the off position, the customer will be responsible for the cost of a service call, see the After Hours - Power Outage page for more information.
