The Branch of Tribal Climate Resilience’s (TCR) Tribal Climate Annual Awards Program provides competitive funding to federally-recognized Tribes and authorized Tribal organizations to support climate resilience planning and strategy implementation projects.

Each Tribe or Tribal organization is eligible to submit applications for up to two planning projects and one implementation project for funding awards. Applications must be prepared according to the proposal application guidelines provided in the FY 2023 solicitation “Annual Awards Program to Support Tribal Climate Resilience for Federally Recognized Tribes and Authorized Tribal Organizations.”

For the FY 2023 Tribal Climate Annual Awards Program, applications can be submitted online via the TCR Annual Awards Program Portal. Here’s how to apply:

Create an Account on the TCR Annual Awards Program Portal

To begin preparing your proposal application, create an account on the TCR Annual Awards Program Portal.

Newly created accounts must be approved by TCR staff before you may log in to prepare proposal applications. The account approval process may take 1-2 business days, so be sure to leave sufficient time before the award deadline.

Creating an Account

To create an account, visit the TCR Annual Awards Program Portal login page and click “Create Account.” You will need the following information:

  • Your full name.
  • The contact email address where you’d like to receive application updates.
  • Your role with the planning or implementation project, such as principal investigator, project manager, program director, grant writer, or general applicant representative.
  • Optionally, the name of the Tribal program administering the project.
  • The name of the federally-recognized Tribe or authorized Tribal organization applying for project funding.

When creating an account, you will be asked whether you are preparing an application on behalf of a federally-recognized Tribe or an authorized Tribal organization.

If you are applying on behalf of a federally-recognized Tribe, first select your Tribe’s BIA region. You may then select your Tribe from the list of Tribes with spellings as they appear in the Federal Register.

If you would like to submit your application using a different name for your Tribe than what appears in the Federal Register, you can enter your Tribe’s name in the “Preferred Tribal name” box.

If you are applying on behalf of an authorized Tribal organization, enter the name of your organization in the “Name of Federally Authorized Tribal Organization” box. You must also certify that you will include in each application a Tribal resolution or letter of support from all benefitting or participating Tribes.

Account Approval and Creating a Password

Please allow 1-2 business days for the TCR staff to review and approve your account. The confirmation email will come from a “salesforce.com” email address. If you have not received a confirmation email, be sure to check your junk or spam folder.

If your account creation request is approved, you will receive an email confirming that your account has been approved, your username, and a link to set up your password.

If your account creation request is rejected, you will receive an email confirming that your account has been rejected. TCR staff reject account creation requests if they contain incomplete, incorrect, or duplicate information.

If your account creation request was rejected and should not have been, please contact the your regional coordinator available from the Tribal Climate Resilience Resource Directory.

Logging into the Portal

Once your account has been approved and you have chosen a password, you may log in from the TCR Annual Awards Program Portal login page. Your username is provided in your account confirmation email.

If you do not remember your password, you can send a password reset request to your email by clicking “Forgot your password?” and entering your account email address in the “username” box.
