The Native Act 2020 – 2022 congressional report is now available.

Indian Affairs, through the Office of Indian Economic Development (OIED), has engaged in significant regionally focused Tribal tourism efforts since the inception of the Native American Tourism and Improving Visitor Experience Act (NATIVE Act) of 2016 (Public Law 114-221). The NATIVE Act, which was signed into law on September 23, 2016, attempts to address the need for long-term investment from the Federal government in building Tribal capacity for tourism and economic development. Since there are so many facets and opportunities in tourism, in order for tourism to flourish, government officials and agencies need to cooperate with stakeholders and Native communities to provide an environment for growth.  The NATIVE Act provides the framework for this collaboration.
