Through the NATIVE Act, we’re working to establish a U.S. tourism strategy that will further expand economic opportunities in American Indian and Alaska Native communities.

Tourism is America’s top service export, and millions of domestic and international travelers visit Indian Country every year. These travelers spend hundreds of billions of dollars during their visits, which helps to fuel the U.S. economy.

According to the National Travel and Tourism Office, overseas travelers to Indian Country also have a much greater impact on the American economy than the average international traveler to the United States. Overseas travelers who visit Indian County while in the U.S. tend to stay longer and visit more states and cities.
