Biography
Dylan Erickson serves as Chief Financial Officer for Indian Affairs at the U.S. Department of the Interior, providing executive oversight of financial operations and reporting, acquisition and grant programs, and internal controls and audit management. Reporting directly to the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Management, Dylan is a principal adviser to the Assistant Secretary for Indian Affairs on matters pertaining to federal financial compliance, audit readiness, and acquisition and grant program oversight for the Bureau of Indian Affairs, the Bureau of Indian Education, and broader departmental goals.
Prior to this role, Dylan served as Deputy Chief Financial Officer for Indian Affairs, where he led all bureau-wide financial activities and represented Indian Affairs in collaborations with the Department of the Interior, the Department of Treasury, and other federal oversight bodies. In previous capacities, Dylan managed significant modernization efforts, implemented department-wide financial system enhancements, and developed reporting dashboards and training initiatives utilized throughout Indian Affairs. His leadership has reduced procurement lead times, resolved critical audit findings, and improved the efficiency and effectiveness of acquisition and financial operations.
Following six years of service in the U.S. Navy, Dylan has continued his commitment to public service as a career federal employee leveraging extensive technical expertise as a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Government Financial Manager. He holds two master’s degrees from George Mason University. His combination of strategic leadership, technical acumen, and dedication to public service has consistently advanced financial stewardship and mission delivery across Indian Affairs.
