Indian Affairs is committed to meaningful government-to-government consultation with tribal nations. The Tribal Interior Budget Council plays a critical role in ensuring that tribal priorities inform the budget formulation process. We gathered valuable insights from Tribal leaders during our May consultation that will help us to enhance the forum and plan for the future.
The Tribal-Interior Budget Council provides a forum and process for tribes and federal officials to work together in developing annual budget requests for Indian programs in the Department of the Interior. Our May meeting, which followed our Tribal consultation has prepped us for the work ahead.
