Announcement: 90-Day Notices for Farming & Grazing Lease Negotiations

The Farming & Grazing Department has mailed out all 90-day notices to landowners. These notices inform recipients that the tract of land listed is available for leasing. If you regularly negotiate your farming and grazing leases, please note:

• Negotiation Period: Begins October 1 and ends December 31. This 90-day window is your opportunity to negotiate lease terms.

• Negotiation Forms: Landowners or lessees may pick up a negotiation form during this period. Negotiations must be completed within a 10-day window and the form returned to the Agency by either party.

• Important: Landowners should NOT sign the negotiation form if a rental amount is not listed. The negotiation form is NOT a lease; it is a step in the process. Phone numbers should be provided for the landowners who sign the negotiation form.

• Lease Generation: Once the negotiation form is returned, the Agency will generate a lease. Acceptance forms will be sent to landowners by the lessee.

• Approval Requirement: It takes 51% ownership interest to approve a lease.
