This virtual training session will provide an overview of the new updated National Policy Memo, "Streamlining the Rights-of-Way and Business Lease Application Processes for Federally Funded Tribal Broadband Infrastructure Projects" (NPM-TRUS-44 A2) for Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) field staff, Tribes which have compacted or contracted realty functions, Federal Partners and Industry.

NPM-TRUS-44 A2 establishes the BIA policy for the efficient and effective processing of Right-of-Ways (ROWs) and Business Leases. This updated memorandum establishes BIA policy for the efficient and effective processing of ROW and business lease applications for infrastructure projects.

The updates to this NPM aim to ensure consistency with applicable laws, to support Tribal Nations in exercising their sovereignty to govern their lands and pursue economic self-sufficiency, conservation practices, and climate resiliency.
