Effective January 1, 2020, the Colorado River Agency will no longer accept cash, including coins, as payment for products and services for which fees are required. This change is being made to streamline the payment collection process and is in accordance with the Department of the Treasury Financial Manual Bulletin No. 2017-12.


This notice is issued in accordance with Bulletin No. 2017-12 and 31 U.S.C. §§ 321, 3302, and 3720.

To make paying your Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) Colorado River Agency Electrical Service (CRA-ES) electric power bill simpler and as hassle free as possible we offer several convenient ways for you to pay your bill.

You may pay your electric bill through use of checks, money order, cashier checks, and credit/debit cards. Credit/debit cards are accepted via phone.  The most convenient way to pay your electric bill is through the use of the free online bill payment service  All merchant fees are paid by the US Treasury so there is no cost to use this service, and it does not cost the CRA-ES to offer the service.

You will be required to have your customer account number ready for manual entry into the form.  Customers do have the option of creating an online account with, which will enhance and ease the process of online bill payment.

Credit Cards are limited to a total of $24,999.99 for all transactions with one or more U.S. Government agencies conducted on the same day using the same credit card.
