This handbook provides guidance to Realty personnel (including BIA regional and agency staff) and Tribal contact/compact Realty staff in preparing, reviewing, and processing trust and restricted fee land acquisition & disposal (A&D) conveyances. Trust lands and restricted fee lands are administered under the jurisdiction of the BIA. The corresponding Indian Affairs Manual (IAM), 52 IAM 18: Processing Acquisition and Disposal (A&D) Applications, provides the general authorities and responsibilities, and is the official policy for processing trust and restricted fee land conveyance transactions.
