Biography
Sharif Branham serves as the Director of the Office of Facilities, Property and Safety Management (OFPSM) within Indian Affairs, where Sharif provides executive leadership for the facilities, property, and safety portfolio. In this role, Sharif oversees strategic direction, policy development, and operational oversight for nationwide programs that support safe, functional, and compliant facilities; effective property management; and comprehensive safety practices that enable mission delivery across Indian Affairs.
Previously, Sharif served as the Bureau of Land Management’s Assistant Director for Resources and Planning, leading policy development and program oversight for Planning and Decision Support; Range, Riparian and Forest Management; Fish and Wildlife Conservation; Wild Horse and Burro Management; Environmental Quality and Protection; Aquatics; and Science. Sharif strengthened intergovernmental coordination and advanced initiatives supporting conservation, rangeland management, and public‑lands stewardship.
Sharif began his federal career at the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), dedicating more than two decades to advancing national conservation programs and strengthening organizational strategy, operations, and mission support across the agency. He earned a master’s degree in environmental biology from the University of Pennsylvania and a bachelor’s degree in environmental science from Richard Stockton College of New Jersey.
