Margaret served as Senior Advisor to the Principal Deputy Special Trustee, a position that she's held since August 2018. She began her federal career in 1992 as an Accountant for the Branch of Investment Accounting in the Office of Trust Funds Management (OTFM) when it was still under the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Margaret brings a 30+-year history and comprehensive knowledge of the Office of the Special Trustee for American Indians as she was here since before its inception. Her expertise in risk management, trust operations, regulation drafting/implementation and project management is invaluable to the work the entire organization does for Indian Tribes and individual Indian beneficiaries. Margaret received the Department's Distinguished Service Award and Service to Citizens Award for her work on the Boarding School Initiative.
