Assistant Deputy Bureau Director, Office of Justice Services

Louis Poitra is the Assistant Director of the Office of Justice Services, bringing over two decades of dedicated service and expertise to his current role. He began his service with the Office of Justice Services in 2002 as a Uniformed Police Officer at the Western Nevada Agency. Throughout his career, Poitra has held various key positions, including serving as a Training Sergeant, Special Agent, Chief of Police, and Assistant Special Agent in Charge, demonstrating his comprehensive understanding of the organization's operations.

With an impressive educational background, Poitra has completed the Basic Police Officer Training Program, Criminal Investigation Training Program, and multiple advanced law enforcement training programs. Notably, he is a graduate of the prestigious Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy-Session 281, where he honed his communication, leadership, and fitness skills over a 10-week program.

Poitra is an enrolled member of the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe in New York.
