Business incubator grants will expand services in tribal reservation communities
WASHINGTON – The Office of the Assistant Secretary for Indian Affairs announced a funding opportunity totaling up to $3 million through the Indian Business Incubators Program to help established business incubators expand services for Native entrepreneurs in and around tribal reservation communities. Applications are due by July 24, 2026.
Administered by the Office of Indian Economic Development, the competitive grant program will award up to 10 grants ranging from $300,000 to $400,000 annually for three years. The funding will support business incubators that provide Native entrepreneurs with the mentorship, technical assistance, networking opportunities and investor connections needed to start, grow and sustain successful businesses. Applications are due July 24, 2026.
Business incubators play a critical role in providing the guidance, connections and resources entrepreneurs need to start and grow successful businesses. This funding will help strengthen tribal economies, create jobs and promote long-term prosperity throughout Indian Country.
The Indian Business Incubators Program supports established business incubators that provide individualized assistance to Native entrepreneurs operating startup, early-stage and established businesses that offer products or services on or near tribal reservation communities. Through this funding opportunity, Indian Affairs seeks proposals from eligible organizations that can deliver structured business development services, including mentorship, networking, technical assistance and access to investors. These services help Native entrepreneurs overcome barriers to business development while building sustainable businesses that contribute to long-term economic growth.
Eligible applicants include tribes, tribal organizations, tribal colleges and universities and non-profit organizations. For more information, please visit https://simpler.grants.gov/opportunity/cdd264f9-758f-4f26-af23-e6c6e8038c85
