Are you an Indigenous youth or a youth from a local community? The United Nations wants to hear from you!
To prepare for the 28th Conference of Parties (COP28), the upcoming annual international climate summit hosted by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), the UN Local Communities and Indigenous Peoples Platform (LCIPP) Facilitative Working Group (FWG) is hosting two informal virtual youth consultations.
Join either of the two informal virtual youth consultations to give your input to LCIPP co-leads on how to design COP28’s annual youth round table, also known as COP28 Activity 8.
Activity 8 focuses on the role of Indigenous youth and youth from local communities, and concrete ways to advance the engagement of youth in designing and implementing climate policies and actions at all levels. This activity will also facilitate and advance the discussion to strengthen the engagement of Indigenous youth and youth from local communities in climate action and the UNFCCC process.
About the LCIPP FWG
The LCIPP FWG is comprised of 14 representatives, half of which are representatives of Parties, also known as UN member states, and half of which are representatives from Indigenous peoples organizations.
