    Dear Tribal Leader:

    The Indian Trust Asset Reform Act, P .L. 114-178, was signed into law on June 22, 2016. Title II of the Jaw authorized the Secretary of the Interior to establish and carry out an Indian trust asset management demonstration project for tribal forestry and surface leasing programs (Demonstration Project).

    Given the expected tribal interest in participating in the Demonstration Project, the Department of the Interior will conduct the following tribal consultation sessions prior to establishing the Project and selecting participants:

    Once consultations have been completed and the Demonstration Project has been established, interested tribes may then submit their requests for participation in the Project.
